I chose to do my video like one you’d see on a local tv news station. I got interviews with people who are really knowledgeable including Lindsey Myers who is the Director of Marketing at Kent State University. The video was supposed to be just surface-level information for people. So I put what games are in there or the major games. I used Chris as kinda a way to show people how people in the program feel about the whole thing. I put when it was announced. I put Myers in there as an authoritative voice to show that who is overseeing the program and how the university plans on showing off the program. The headings I chose were from the Adobe program itself and I chose the blue one because it matched Kent University colors. It wouldn’t let me export the video in a better frame rate or better resolution because my phone was used and I guess that is what I got. I was pretty disappointed in the quality of the video in terms of how it looks but the info is all there.

Final Audio Story
Instead of trying to cover Cloud 9’s whole run at the major I chose to do the finals. Faze vs Cloud 9 in the finals of the Boston Major is worthy of such a change. Underdog story and the first time an NA team won a major. The reason I chose to do this was that by trying to cover the whole tournament I missed out on even telling the players name. I got to go over maps and some context onto the map Overpass. More time would be needed to tell the whole picture for each series they played in the playoffs. Now you at least know the players on the winning side and some other info. I still think it isn’t great because of how bad a storyteller I am but at least there is more content. I added some emotion though when it came down to some of the details. got rid of the audience sound because it didn’t make sense to have. I stuck with the same music because I think it’s good for this.
Audio Story Draft
I chose to do my story in the same vein as my graphics collage and that was the 2018 Boston Major. Sorry to my group for having to listen to my bad storytelling, there is a lot of info that I just couldn’t fit into the 3 min that could truly convey the full picture of the story. I chose a song from the youtube audio catalog to play through the whole thing. I didn’t really put a lot of thought into the selection of the song other than I wanted something that sounded kind of intense. The short audio clips of the crowd are from my snapchat stories so that’s the actual crowd from the arena. I had to cut a lot of “uhs” and “ums” from my raw audio. I am thinking of redoing the story so that I can fit a lot more context into why the run that Cloud 9 was cool and how they beat who they beat. My biggest problem is that the story just doesn’t sound very exciting.

Final Logo

My logo was inspired by a lot of esport teams logos. The shield design is very popular. If you look up on twitter or google and type in esports org or team different shields will come up. The E is for e and the S is for sports. I wanted the keyboard in my logo to represent what the logo is for. To play games on the computer you need a keyboard. Other options were a mouse or a controller. I made it black and white because it is simple and easy to look at. I used the text tool to make the E and the S and used the impact font because I like it. To make the shield I took the rectangle tool and made a big rectangle. Next, I made two anchor points at the top and the bottom of the rectangle and then used the anchor point tool to extend the top into the point it has. Then, I did the same with the bottom and used the curvature tool to get the curves at the bottom. To make the keyboard I used the rectangle tool again and made the base. Next, I angled it and then made smaller rectangles to make the keys of the keyboard and also angled those to match the base.

Final Graphic Collage

I did my graphic collage on my experience at the 2018 ELeague Boston CS:GO Major. All the photos were taken with my phone while at the event. I wanted to show the passion of the fans of the game, the awesome visuals at the event and the winning team. It was actually a very historic finals as it saw the first north american team win a major and the finals is universally accepted as the best major finals in the game’s 12 majors. I showed the passion of the fans with the shouting fans photo. I used the selection tool and cropped out the fans that were on the big screen. I transformed it to be a bigger size. I also tried to sharpen it but I couldn’t tell the difference. I did the same with the bottom left photo with the fans celebrating. I showed off some of the cool visuals with the smoke and fire picture that says CS:GO and the lifting of the trophy with all the confetti. I did the same thing I did with the fans photo. I put a layer mask on each photo and had it kind of fade into the ELeague Logo. I took out the champions team and the logo of the team and did the same thing as all the other photos but raised the opacity on these ones to highlight them because it was the event that they won. I also tried to sharpen and also turned the teams photo into a smart object to try and adjust the positioning of it.
For my revision I took the feedback from my peers and tried to make some of the surrounding photos more visible. In class we spoke about how I wanted to move the Eleague logo to look like its right in front to match the other photos. By pressing edit image, while I was clicked on the layer, I clicked warp perspective and moved it until It was in a potion facing the viewer. I tried this but it ended up looking weird and my photos clashed on top of the logo more and I wanted to keep the champions more visible. To make it work I would of had to make them less visible. I didn’t know how to make the photos better quality. I really didn’t change much except for the biggest issue. I like the way it came out even if I wasn’t able to show case more Photoshop skills.

Overall I’m happy with the result but I think for the final I am going to add different effects to show that I know how to use Photoshop more,
